GRADUATION 2008
June 6, 2008
The extraordinary TPS Class of 2008 graduated on Friday, June 6!
Thursday evening's Teacher Presentation Ceremony, when advisees speak about their students and give them a gift, tthis year featured a choral reading by faculty and staff of the students' own words. At Friday's Graduation Ceremony, most students gave speeches, but three sang beautiful solos and one performed a jazz piece on piano.
This year's graduation speaker was Mark Alan Hughes, the newly appointed Director of Sustainability for the city of Philadelphia. Mark's talk was particularly fitting as this year the all-school theme was "Earth Day Every Day." The graduating Class of 2008 was instrumental in revitalizing the school's celebration of Earth Day and because of their efforts, an Earth Day Celebration – run by MIddle School students – will be held in the schoolyard every April.
We will miss each and every member of the Class of 2008. Stay in touch and visit us often!
